Webinar Summary: Demand Management, Requirements Management, and DevOps

Demand ManagementOur latest webinar on Demand Management, Requirements Management, and DevOps with codeBeamer ALM addressed the question of managing user needs and the development of a product that satisfies it from the initial concept to realization. We introduced participants to the importance of managing demands effectively in order for requirements management to be successful. More specifically, how to define demands, how to differentiate urgent requests from less important ones, and how to collaboratively conduct rankings.

During the process of demand management, managers should evaluate a portfolio of project requests by prioritizing, approving, and rejecting requests for new products/projects. To determine the best combination of projects, portfolio managers should use multiple criteria and analyses, including strategic and financial risks.

After the demands have been prioritized, multiple requirements can be derived. The webinar attendees learned how to define and elaborate requirements, as well as the management process through the development and testing phases. They also learned how codeBeamer ALM provides tight integration with Microsoft Office, and advanced collaboration capabilities around requirements management.

In DevOps, the focus was on alignment and collaboration between Development and Operations. While development departments are driven by user needs for frequent delivery of new features, the operations departments is focused more on availability, the stability of IT services, and IT cost efficiency. Webinar attendees learned how to handle different releases at different points in time and how to calculate release efforts.

Last but not least, participants also learned how to customize, manage and monitor the workflow using the Kanban board. To learn more, watch this webinar recording of our session on 27 March 2014, or start your free trial of codeBeamer ALM right away!
